In May, 2018 the Assembly formed a by-laws committee to review and consider updates to our current by-laws. The committee
recommended several changes be made, as the by-laws were last updated in June 1990. A motion was brought forth at our July 11th,
meeting to approve the new by-laws,and the final vote was held at our October meeting as we had more than 20 members present which was required to make changes to the by-laws. By UNANIMOUS vote of all members present, the new by-laws were officially passed by the Assembly!
Next steps are to submit to the Supreme Advocate for his review and approval.
Special thanks to the SK Martin Kozicki, PFN, PGK for his work to update the by-laws and to the Assembly officers for their careful review and consideration of this important document.

Adopt-a-Vet family Christmas Program
Our Assembly will “adopt” 2 veterans families and purchase some gifts for each member of the family. Program chaired SK Tom Rancour works with the organization “Vets Returning Home” to select two local families in need. SKs of our Assembly will purchase and wrap a few gifts for each family member and will deliver them to the families around Christmas. This is one of my favorite events as we put “feet to our faith” and see the impact on the families that our efforts bring. For more information, please contact SK Tom at 248-346-4410.
The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization founded in 1882 by the Venerable Michael J. McGiveny in New Haven, Connecticut. The 4th degree knights participate in and support patriotic organizationa and efforts, especially those supporting the military and veterans. Additionally, the Honor Guard tends to be the face of the Knights of Columbus, participating in parades, church events and other community events.
